Politics..

I do hate politics.. and I do hate getting involve with politics be it country's politics or politics in the company... to me all are equally dirty.. not sure what is a nicer word to describe it.. Anyway, my point is that people complain that the government has many flaws be it corruption whatsoever but in my opinion it doesn't matter who rules the country.. in the end it will still be the same.. only probably less than 5% of the politicians out there who really wants to make a difference to the country and even so the 5% would probably have been kicked out, executed or something...

I so agree with the article written by Wong Chun Wai in the Star - Don’t let anger cloud judgment. Some people will tell me never to believe what the newspaper or media says or writes.. cos they are all pro BN (gov).. all bullshit.. who cares.. to me.. regardless what it is.. all are bullshit.. regardless where or who it's coming from.. all these are just marketing talk or gimmicks.. salesman trying to hit target and hard selling themselves.. No offense.. it's not that I have anything against salesman or whatsoever but then it's just that some salesman will tend to oversell or over promise.. and in the end unable to deliver..

No doubt that there are flaws in our current government and many people are unsatisfied with the current situation.. But to me, what I think is that humans are never satisfied with what they have or the luxury that they are enjoying.. the grass will always look greener on the other side.. I am not saying that I fully support our government or rather against it.. just neutral cos so far till today... 26 years goin to 27 years of living as a citizen of Malaysia, I dun think it has really affected me much in any way.. and at the moment it just seems kinda ok as it is.. in fact I am kinda afraid to imagine if our country is to be ruled by certain opposition party... not to be too obvious here.. some probably know which party I am referring to..

Anyway, once again.. I hate politics.. just want to put my 2 cents in here..

Vote for a party that you are confident with... confident that they will change the country for the better and not just any party as long as it's not the government.. that is not the right way to think.. be rational in your choice cos the future lies in your hands..

ooooo..

feels weird all these coming from me.. hehehe.. back to the old crappy self now.. hahaha.. ciao...

In the beginning, my purpose coming here is to comment on your choice of songs of the week and then i saw this..

Sigh.. Seriously, i got my 2cents worth to say as well but then again just to make it short..

Let me just say that, my purpose of voting for 'XX' is neither emotional nor hoping for a better future under the ruling of this 'XX'. BUT, i am taking this opportunity as 'my way' of reminding the current ruler, we are not a fool and it should be the govt fearing us instead of the other way round...

jolcy said...

ohhh... are you trying to tell me that currently you fear the gov??

jolcy said...

Do you think Malaysian citizens fear the gov??

Anonymous said...

This 'way of reminding the current ruler, we are not a fool and it should be the govt fearing us instead of the other way round' thing.. Is this 'reminder' worth the risk of letting the fate of our country fall in the wrong hands?

In the end, IF these 'nice people' do truimph, who would be the ones suffering? Certainly not them, but the good, innocent citizens of Malaysia. And why? Because certain parties seek to 'teach a lesson' or seek 'to remind'.

Is this a lesson that is worth all of its implications and consequences, I ask all of you?

Bear in mind that these 'lessons' that you look to nail in to the government, if you do succeed, WILL haunt us all for FOUR very long years. Is this a price you are willing to pay?

We've all heard of extremist and ridiculous rulings that have been made in the hands of the 'you know who' opposition party. Do you seriously want this kind of backward and ridiculous rules to exist, especially in a developing and thriving hub like Kuala Lumpur? If this happens? Malaysia is only going to take a step back towards development.

This is not a game and not something worth fooling around with if you ask me. Certainly a risk not worth taking. This is a big thing, way bigger than a mere 'lesson'. This is bigger than you, me or us. This is about Malaysia. Are you really ready to risk losing the essence of Malaysia? Risk losing what this country is all about?

With that, I urge you people out there to be rational and think with your brains and not let your emotions do the talking/voting.

The fate of Malaysia is in your hands.

Yes, the government DOES have an influence over what we see in the media.

Now, here's a question for you:

If the media reports untruths and blatant lies about the opposition. Does the opposition...
A) Sit there, 'goyang kaki' and let the media say whatever they want to say? Or
B) Fight back?

This question is dedicated to the nice friends of Jolcy.

Dear B.R.E.E,

Let me quote you:
"Let me just say that, my purpose of voting for 'XX' is neither emotional nor hoping for a better future under the ruling of this 'XX'."

If you are not voting to hope for a better future, WHY THE HELL DO YOU BOTHER TO VOTE or even get involved in this political shebang? Isn't this what its all supposed to be about?

I think you are a severely misguided individual.

Othy said...

Dear Anonymous,
I see that you have quoted me wrongly. I meant 'Voting hoping for a better future UNDER THE RULING OF THIS 'XX''

Plus, the reason why am i voting for is also something i've already said and so need not repeat.

I think your remarks about me is somewhat too harsh. Shame on you for not even dare to reveal yourself.

Dear b.r.e.e

I'm sure I have quoted you perfectly accurately. Because what I did was merely copy and paste what you posted. If you look closer, you will see that nothing has been doctored and all that I have quoted are the exact word for word as your earlier comment.

I'm sure the other readers of this blog would be able to back me up on this. Or maybe you want to tell us that your brains coordinated wrongly with your fingers that's why you typed one thing but meant another? Hmm?

Anyway, no point telling who I am. I would only be just another name to you. Would it make our lives better if you do?

hahahaha.. you ppl are entertaining. XD

Dear Anonymous,
I am truly worried for you. I have searched through all my comments and posts on my blog but couldn't come up with anything that might offended anyone. Nevertheless i would like to say i'm sorry if indeed i did offended you in anyway.

I hear alot of anger in your comment. Perhaps you might want to seek some help in coping with your anger management?

Anyway, the latest news today is no chinese in the parliament should the opposition wins. If this is not low, i do not know what is..

Othy said...

The govt must be desperate enough to resort to blackmailing. I took this news heavily. Imagine no Chinese or Indian minister in the Cabinet. United States is on the verge of accepting a Black on its presidency level. Why can't we move on like others did?

jolcy said...

b.r.e.e >> Anyway, the latest news today is no chinese in the parliament should the opposition wins.

hmmm... I think I seriously dun understand politics too well.. getting complicated or rather humans are complicated... Feel that there are so much that I dun understand bout the situation at hand now..

1 - if opposition wins.. will the government still have a say whether any other races are not allowed in the parliament??

2 - if that is the case then why is everyone opting to vote for the opposition?? Malaysian citizens do not want other races in the parliament??

3 - if certain 'XX' opposition wins I am sure you can see a lot of chinese or indians in the parliament... ya??? (*sarcastically*)

I see that quite a few people are unable to look at the whole situation equally.. as in fair and square... any news they hear from the media or news.. aiya.. it's all controlled by the gov.. gov is playing dirty.. "resorting to blackmailing".. but then.. all facts told by somebody else out there are all TRUE... regardless what it is.. I am just being neutral here.. aren't these people being emotional??

someone quoted that "Only old farts vote for the BN".. another's response to that was that cos old people cannot accept change.. well, in my opinion, these old farts might have gone thru more than most of the young people out there.. they have seen so much happening throughout all these years.. think about it.. if the situation is really that bad.. and if change is DEFINITELY for the better.. will these old farts still support the gov?? are these old farts people who probably left their brains somewhere many years back or are they just easily manipulated??

b.r.e.e has not responded to my question whether Malaysian citizens feared the government.. this has really kept me wondering if this fact is true.. cos I seriously do not see it as the case.. In a way I do wish that Malaysian citizens fear the gov then probably we'll be more like our neighboring country Singapore.. more peace.. I think the problem with this country is that many people DO NOT fear the gov.. that is why the situation seems to be getting worse.. sad but true..yes.. you can fight back to say that becos gov is not doing their job properly... think about it.. how are they able to look after so many?? so, many out there are trying to be a rebel including yourself.. i think there is definitely a need of a huge resources to manage the whole situation..

lastly what I want to say is that.. whoever that thinks that it's really not that bad under certain 'XX' opposition's ruling then please go ahead and move to wherever that the so called 'XX' opposition is ruling..

Why don't you people move to Kxlxxxxn first, then live there for a few years and tell us what is the real truth?

You guys just hear a few 'facts' from some friends and assume that what they say are real. Whereas whatever media say are bias and influenced.

Can you please tell me who your friends are? Maybe we can establish a credibility list? Do you know FOR SURE how credible these friend or friend's friend are?

Do you know how ridiculous it sounds when you people tell me that "oh, my friend's friend says that XX party is extremist, it is only made to seem that way cause they are staying there.". OI! Wake up call! Do you even know who your friend's friend is? For all you know its the xx party leader!

How can you people be so easily manipulated, naive and gullible? These information are all based on HEARSAY. If you don't know what that is, please check your dictionary. Please don't just listen to whatever people out there say. Always insist on asking for proof (REAL proof, mind you!)and credibility of the source.

Whatever it is, if you ask me, the media, however biased it maybe, will always be more credible than hearsays. Because it IS in written black and white, and if they do report untruths, the relevant parties WILL go after them. Whereas, hearsays are from unknown sources. Probably just rumours. You don't even know who its from.

I know Jolcy has alot of educated friends and blog readers. I'm not saying who you people should vote for and not vote for. But my message is this: PLEASE RATIONALISE, ASSESS AND ANALYZE WHATEVER YOU HEAR OR READ WITH YOUR BRAINS. Don't let all those years of education seem like they've all washed down the drain.

Dear b.r.e.e

I shall quote you again:
"Anyway, the latest news today is no chinese in the parliament should the opposition wins. If this is not low, i do not know what is.."

Are you tying to tell us:
Opposition is not going to have chinese in the parliment if they win. But lets vote the opposition anyway!

b.r.e.e where did you get your latest news above from? Think it would do you good to read a wake up call's advice. Check your source!

And secondly, if you call Obama a 'Black' (I'm quoting you here), please do not give us your shit about equality. Because you just called Obama a 'Black'. Don't you think that makes you a hypocrite? Talking about equality of race here in Malaysia and then turning around and calling Obama a 'black'.

Shame on you! BOOOOOOOOO..!!

Hey, when you people say things ah..please make sure what you're hearing are not just malicious rumours or hearsay (winks at a wake up call).

For you people who repeat things u hear, it's not gonna look very good (or intelligent, even!) on you when it is proven to be a rumour. It will spoil your credibility as a person.

Next time when anything comes out from your mouth, people will doubt whether its true or not.

bree, where did you hear your latest news today? Please don't tell me its from some forwarded sms or email ah!

If you all like to repeat rumours and hearsay phrases, today's classifieds got job opening for 'A DUMB PARROT'!

Hey bree,

There is no need to be a bitch about this. Its JUST POLITICS! I didn't name names. I wasn't referring to you in particular. But if you think its you then what can I say. Siapa yang makan cili, dialah yang pedas.

Its great to see so many people interested in our country and has a passion for it, but I feel name calling and degenarative comments are not required. We remember our objective(which is to make Malaysia a better place) and should keep our comments constructive and mind opening.

With this I would like to share some thoughts that was passed on to me which I feel makes alot of sense.

I would like to open with a quote:

"Politicians are like diapers, they need to be changed often and for the same reason."

Jo's comments are politics being dirty is correct. Her statement:

"Anyway, my point is that people complain that the government has many flaws be it corruption whatsoever but in my opinion it doesn't matter who rules the country.. in the end it will still be the same.."

is very, Very, VERY correct.

At current best we can only hope to deny BN 2/3 majority and provide a counter balance in this country.

I am not saying that the opposition in better, but we should always ensure that neither party has 2/3 majority and there should never be a monopoly in our goverment.

In regards to this, I am sure everyone in Malaysia knows how bad a monopoly is... look at Proton.

If anyone wishes to contact me on this, I am reachable at:

wahlau eh..y suddenly ur blog so da active 1..

i wrote about this albeit short and sweet..just vote for who u think can do it..thats all..

jolcy said...

Joe.. agree with you.. vote for who u think can do it..

I guess what I have been trying to imply here or rather a few of us are trying to say here is that to vote for who you're confident with and confident that he/she can do something for us.. and not merely voting just because it's against the gov.. take a look at the contestants that you are to vote for.. are they the one that you feel capable of doing something.. vote rationally and not emotionally..

There is no point arguing. Please calm down everyone. Whoever won the government wont change much for us. We made a mistake 50 years ago, a mistake that change the lives of all malayans. Our "mushroom" should not get independence, we were not ready and it was too soon. Look at Australia and HK. If independence were delayed for 10 years, we dont have to wait for 2020, we are already a developed nation by now. Its a mistake by our mushroom, so pls its not ur fault, bree and mr/ms anonymous. british, pls help our country and invade us again, we welcome you.

~Ze Hermit~ said...

Yeap! Vote rationally. And I definitely agree with 'vote for who u think can do it'! That's what your post is originally about. Don't let emotions or anger cloud our judgements! Thats why I sent you the link to read that day.

If indeed we are talking about this article here, perhaps you might want to re-read the article.

Please do not read articles and distort what you read then claim it as a 'truth'.

This is the very thing that causes trouble. Misinterpretation.

Dear "Opposition Voters",

If you vote for the opposition because you wish to "teach" the government a "lesson," without even thinking of the circumstances of the new ruling government, then as your namesake implies, you WILL be BREEding lots of emmigrants..

Then again, as we live in a free country, everyone is entitled to their own opinions....

SCROLL DOWN FOR MY OPINION...

My opinion is that YOU ARE SERIOUSLY, DEAD WRONG.

ON MANY COUNTS:

1. Indicating a need for change (just for the sake of change) with no inkling of what the opposition stands for, does, or will implement for the future of the "fearful" people is plain incredulous and shows immense ignorance. (and I'm being very kind and restrained with my comments)

2. Quoting/rephrasing others or whatever you read in literature (newspapers, etc) without knowing the source, motivation, etc, is again demonstrating a severe deficiency in mental and educational development.

In conclusion, corrections or retributions for any form of government or policy will come. But to vote for the opposition without fully knowing their agenda or even voting AGAIN for the current party without knowing what they truly stand for is akin to the actions of mentally unstable persons.

I personally do not know of anyone who would bite off their noses to spite their own face.

But, hey, if this tickles you silly, be my guest..

..if you're not already silly enough as it is..

dear jolcy,

do u think that if a leader will say something like " if opposition win then there wont have any chinese minister in parlimen?"..

1) do u think that a good leader will say this kind of stupid crab to threaten his citizen ??

2)parlimen form by 222seats, BN only got 127seats..the rest is DAP , PKR , and PAS..there are must must more chinese in parlimen this year..

3)if the gov really dont have a chinese minister due to this time election lost, it's means that from the beginning they already dont have this intention to form a multiracial gov if they lose..so, what kind crab that is u cant have a chinese minister if u lose...this is a stupid threat..

no offense..just hope u understand...as a chinese... appreciate what opposition party fight for us..

jolcy said...

Dear Jiahui..

what is it that you're talking about a good leader threatening his citizens??? I think you have misunderstood the entire thing..

Anyway, what i have to say is that if you are talking about a multi-racial country.. then all I have to say is that neither DAP, PKR or PAS can rule the country cos they are all formed according to races.. I rest my case..

I have to agree that the leaders did threaten the nation..both Indian and Chinese on separate occasions. Full spread advertisements in major local newspapers have been made and the idea was to provoke fear and the idea of 'no choice' in the nation of that respective race. By doing that, those leaders did dig an early grave for themselves ahead of the actual election day. This has been globally reported as well by other mainstream western media.

On the ice-cream issue, haha, wait for 31st!

jolcy said...

well.. if ppl wish to think of it as a threat then I rest my case..

not my duty to make things straight.. just thinking neutral here..

politics is a dirty thing in my eyes like what I've stated in my post..

just hoping that change will be for the better.. :) cheers..
